Blurb: My own folly had endangered me, my preservation I owe to the kindness, the integrity of another…

IN 1808, ELIZABETH BENNET is young, curious, and in possession of an invitation to a London party which she ought not to attend. Unable to resist the temptation, Elizabeth indulges her wish to see a party of the beau monde and finds herself in a dangerous situation. She is saved from a desperate fate by Mr Darcy of Pemberley but relief is short-lived; Mr Gardiner arrives and demands satisfaction on behalf of his young niece’s honour.

BOUND FOR THREE YEARS—with no intent to marry on either side—Mr Darcy and Elizabeth both resolve to do as they must to end their unwanted almost-betrothal. Mr Bennet however refuses to allow it, fearing that Elizabeth’s character will bear a permanent stain that no amount of time or money could erase. Together, Darcy and Lizzy contrive a plan to overcome her father’s reluctance: Darcy will find her someone else to marry, thus relieving himself of the obligation.

THE FOLLY OF THEIR YOUTH, it seems, might be set to rights after all, until feelings arise which complicate the scheme. But will they realise their true attachment before it’s too late?

My Thoughts: This book starts out with Elizabeth and her cousin through Mrs. Gardiner going to a Cyprian party even though Lizzy had raised objections about going. She didn't know that it was that kind of party until Mr. Darcy saves her from becoming the prey of some of the male partygoers. Well her uncle ends up catching him kissing her and pretty much demands he does the honorable thing. This leads to years of a pseudo understanding which makes it so Darcy can't marry elsewhere unless he wants to be sued. He ends up coming up with a scheme to find her someone else to marry so he can propose to Lady Cassandra. It would have worked too if both parties didn't end up catching feelings for each other but kept denying it. Lizzy held out the longest until almost the end of the book. Darcy ended up picking the worst possible men for her to consider with Mr. Stafford being the worst of the lot.

I have been wanting to read this since I heard about it. I was so happy when I was able to get an advanced copy through BookSprout. I definitely recommend reading this book when it comes out. This book was a satisfying ride from start to finish.
